It is one of 11 such (TII) National Road Offices in the country
What we do
The Sligo National Roads and Greenways Office (Sligo NRGO) is responsible for the delivery of all Major and Minor National road improvement and realignment schemes in County Sligo, in accordance with the Transport Infrastructure Irelands (TII) Project Management Guidelines, from inception through to final road construction. It is also responsible for the delivery of the N17 from Collooney to Knock in Mayo, through the various planning stages, via a Section 85 agreement with Mayo County Council. The Sligo NRGO is part of Sligo County Council, and is funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland. Significant Road Design and Project Management expertise, including environmental, legislative, appraisal, compulsory purchase preparation and procurement expertise, has been built up by the Sligo Design team over many years. The Office has recently been given the remit of delivering Greenway Projects as well as some Active Travel projects along the National Road Network as the TII are now the Sanctioning Authority for the delivery of these Projects nationally.
